My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesday

Good morning crafters and welcome to Would you Guess Wednesday feartured at My Cricut Craft Room.  Our Design Team leader Erica challenges us to think outside the box on Wednesdays.  We are to create a project using only the Feature Keys on any cartridge...or we can create a paper project using a Cricut Cake Cartridge.  Did you know you can use any Cake Cartridge on any Cricut?

Today I decided to use only the Feature Keys on the Cricut cartridge Gypsy Wanderings (this is a preloaded cartridge that comes with the Gypsy).  This cartridge is great as it has a lot of seasonal images.  I created this A2 size card to send to one of my friends to let her know that I am Grateful for our friendship this Thanksgiving. 

For my card base I used Kraft cardstock as my base.  All of the other paper are from my scraps. 

Cricut Cuts:

I used the same Button on all of my cuts (button 28 on the overlay)

For the frame I used the Feature Key: Decor Tag <Shift>  cut at 3.5

For the phrase I used the Feature Key: Phrase/Shadow <Shift> Welded to Decor Tag, sized at 1.55

Feature Key: Phrase/Shadow - cut at 1.55

For the leaves I used the Featur Key: Border/Shadow <Shift> - cut at 1.24

Feature Key: Border/Shadow - cut at 1.24

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.  Can you believe it is already November?  I sure can't.  Before we know it, it will be Christmas.  So exciting!  Anywho on to my creation today.  Today is my favorite day to design at My Cricut Craft Room as it challenges me to think outside of the main buttons on the cartridges. :)  This day the Design Team is challenged to use any Feature Image on any cartridge of our choosing...we are not supposed to use the main image.  I have found some amazing images and I am always looking at the extra features now. :)

Using my Gypsy I found the base card using the card feature on A Child's Year, Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 5.5 so it will fit in a standard A2 size envelope.  The flower image can be found on Straight from the Nest in the border feature, button 14 on the overlay, cut at 2.65.  Then press shift and the same button to cut the flower petals.  I finished off my card with some rhinestones, ribbon, and of course stickles.  My sentiment on the bottom right is from My Creative Time - Many Greetings.  This is a must have stamp set in my opinion.  Love it!

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  We are already half way through the week...Woot Woot!
Today is Would you guess Wednesday and personally my favorite day to be featured on at My Cricut Craft Room.  What is this you ask?  Well on Wednesday's Erica challenges us to use only the Feature buttons on any Cricut Cartridge or a Cricut Cake Cartridge to make a paper creation (these cartridges work on any Cricut.)   For my card today I used Gypsy Wanderings.  This cartridge comes pre loaded with the Gypsy and is great.  It has a lot of seasonal images and great Feature buttons.

Cricut Cuts:
For my A2 (4.25 x 5.5) I used three of the Feature Buttons using my Gypsy for all of the cuts.
The first Feature Button used is Border/Shadow I welded the Shadow Skulls to a square and cut this in black for my mat. The shadow skulls can be found using <Shift>, button 46 selected twice, sized at .95 welded together and then welded to the rectangle that was sized at 5.25 x 4.  I then selected the top layer of Skulls by taking off the shift button and sized at .95.
The next Feature used is Decor Tag, button 14 on the overlay, cut at 5.14 x 2.85. (this is the striped jagedy cut)
The last Feature button used is Phrase/Shadow, button 46, sized at 1" then again with the <Shift> button on for the shadow.

Thanks for joining me today and thank you for all of the wonderful and an encouraging comments from this past weekends My Cricut Craft Rooms Blog Hop.  Today is Would You Guess Wednesday at My Cricut Craft Room and I used Straight from the Nest (this has been one of my favorite cartridges lately).  For those of you that don't know what Would You Guess Wednesday's is all about it is where we get to challenge ourselves and use only the Feature Keys on any cartridge or a Cricut Cake Cartridge to make a paper craft.
Today I created an A2 (4.25 x 5.5) size card.

Cricut Cuts on Gypsy:
Boarder Feature Key:  Button 40 on the overlay, selected twice and welded together, cut at 1.5"
                                   Same key, <Shift>, cut at 1.5"
Phrase Feature Key:  Button 2 on the overlay, cut at 2".

White Gel Pen
Celebrate It Ribbon - White
Recollections Foam Adhesive Squares

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesdays

I hope everyone is having a great week...we are half way there. :)

Today is Would you Guess Wednesday at My Cricut Craft Room.  What does this mean you ask?  On Wednesday's the design team is challenged to use only the Feature Keys (these are the six keys on the left of the overlay) on any Cricut Cartridge. 

For my project today I made a 5x5 card using two Cartridges, Elegant Edges and Straight from the Nest.

I used the Gypsy for all of my cuts.  On the Elegant Edges cut I used Feature Key Oblong, button 27 on the overlay, cut at 4.75.  On Straight from the Nest cut's I used the Feature Key Border for the owls, button 3 on the overlay, cut at 1.08 and Feature Key Phrase, button 40 on the overlay, cut at 2.69.  I inked the edges of my card, added some doodling, adhesive pearls, and googly eyes and there you have it.

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesdays

Happy Wednesday,

We are half way through the week.  Yay!  Today I created this 5x5 card using the Storybook Cricut Cartridge.  This cartridge has a lovely font, but it also has some great Function Keys which is what we DT members focus on for Would you guess Wednesdays at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/. 

My cuts today are from page 47 of the handbook.  I first selected the Accent/Frame Function key and pressed shift and this was cut at 3.75.  Then from the same page I selected the Shorty/Holes Function key and pressed shift for this cut as well...this was cut at 2.34.  I used my Gypsy so I was able to place the flower over the frame and used the sizing arrow until it layered perfectly.  I then stringed some ribbon I had from my stash through the holes on the frame, popped up my flower with some foam adhesive squares, doodled, and added some stickles for some bling and ended up with this super simple yet elegant card.

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesdays

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Wednesday which means we are half way through the week.  Wahoo!  It also means that it is Would you guess Wednesdays at My Cricut Craft Room mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com...What does this mean you ask?

Well, on Wednesdays the Design Team can choose any Cricut Cartridge but we are not able to use the main image on the overlay/handbook...we can only use the feature buttons (these are the 6 buttons at the top left of your overlay) The only exception to this is that we can not use the Shadow or Blackout features as these are basically like using the main image.  The other option is to use any image from the Cricut Cake Cartridge to create a paper craft.  That's right you are able to use Cricut Cake Cartridges in any Cricut machine.  

For my project I chose to use the Cricut Cake Cartridge Birthday Cakes along with my Gypsy.  The cuts I used are the Square from the Gypsy Font Cartridge which can be found by pushing Shift and selecting the Monogram Shadow Feature.  The square is the 4th button in from the right on the bottom row.  I like to call these shapes my hidden treasures. :)  This is sized at Width 5" x Height at 8" essentially making a rectangle.

From the Birthday Cakes Cartridge I used Border 10 found on page 76 in the handbook.  This border was welded to my square/rectangle and is sized at Width 5" x Height 2".  With the border welded this makes my card base 5x10.  I copied Border 10 at the same size so I could layer it over the base with a different color cardstock. On page 56 of the Handbook I selected Robot 3 hit Shift and selected the same button to grab his layers. He is cut at 3.5".


 Now it's time to cut.  When I am placing my papers on my mat I like to turn my Gypsy so the arrows on the mat's match  This way I know the Cricut is going to cut at the right places.  The really funny thing is I originally took a picture for this tutorial and still didn't place my papers on the mat correctly.  Trust me it works if you are paying attention. :)  After everything was cut (correctly) I layered my two base cards and my cute Robot.  I added some doodling to my Robot to give him some finishing touches and pop dotted him to give some dimension.  I stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment which is from Many Greetings by My Creative Time with Emma and my card is complete.

Here is a side view of the card...I am trying to show that the Silver paper is shimmery.  Soo fun!
