My Cricut Craft Room - Card Creating Tuesday

Today at My Cricut Craft Room we had the choice to create a card based on the above sketch.
Here is what I came up with:

This card was fun to use monochromatic colors in Pink of course. :)
I included tags to give the card a little twist...now let's see who is hiding behind these tags.
I used Pink By Design's Stamp set - Take the Cake.  I just love this stamp set.
It is a must have Birthday stamp set in my opinion.
For the Tag Holders and Tags I used Just Because Cards.
The Critters hiding on the tags are of course from Create A Critter.

I welded a tab to the folder cuts so I could add adhesive to the folder and still have room for the tag.
The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 3
The Tag: Button 12 on overlay, cut at 3.5 x 2.95
The Beautiful Birdy and her layers are cut at 2.5

The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 3.5
Tag: Button 12 on the overlay, cut at 3.5 x 3.45
The Sweet Sheep and her layers are cut at 2.5

The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 4.18
The Tag: Button 12 on the overlay, cut at 3.5 x 4.15
The Happy Horse and her layers are cut at 2.5

The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 4.75
The Tag: Button 12 on the overlay, cut at 3.5 x 4.77
The Cutie Cow and her layers are cut at 2.75

Here's a better look at the tags:

To add some added texture to my tags I used Divine Swirls and Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folders.
Another texture I used was Divine Twine.  I especially love the Twine I added to the Horse tag.
To finish the tags I added some doodling.

Hope you enjoyed my Critter Creation!

My Cricut Craftroom's - Card Creating Tuesday

Hi Crafters,
I hope everyone had a great day with their Father's this past weekend.
Today I am posting for My Cricut Craftroom and it is the Design Team's favorite day to post...Card Creating Tuesday.  Today my card is based off of a sketch that Erica provided us.

Here is the sketch:

My creation based off of the above sketch:

I really love this card...the striped paper was from my scraps.
I designed the card on my Gypsy and cut it on my Imagine.  I loaded my paper the wrong way and cut my scraps to where the middle circle was not a complete circle.  Of course I didn't have enough scraps to make another full circle.  So, to fix this "mistake" I cut another half circle and added the Divine Twine to cover the seam.  I actually was really happy to make that
"mistake", because I really like how my solution to fix it turned out.

Cricut Cuts:
Art Philosophy:  Card Feature - Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 5.5
Basic/Icon Layer Feature - Button 1 on the overlay, cut at 3.75
Simply Charmed:  Button 47 on the overlay, cut at 2.5
To complete this cut I also used Feature buttons: Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4.
I didn't use Layer 1 as I didn't care for the smiley face.

To complete my card I stamped my sentiment which is from Pink By Design's Take the Cake.
I also Stickled the flames and used Liquid Pearls on my embossed frosting
(I used Swiss Dots embossing folder).
Of course I finished it off with some doodling.

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you Guess Wednesday

Happy Wednesday...that's right we are half way through the week. Wahoo!

Today at My Cricut Craft Room is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday, which means that Erica challenges us designers to only use the Feature buttons on the Cricut Cartridges.  I love creating on this day because I always find cuts that most times get overlooked.

For today's creation I took Would You Ever Guess Wednesday a step further and used paper from a Christmas stack...now would you have guessed this paper came from a Christmas stack?
It is from the Echo Park Holly Jolly 6x6 Paper Pad.
I just love the colors in this collection.

Also my tip for my alternative to border punches.
I love the look of border punches but
1) I don't want to spend the money on the punches
and 2) I don't have room to store bulky punches
Sooo...using my Gypsy I created my own Border "punch" by selecting the border from
Elegant Edges and welding it to the rectangle from Gypsy Font.
I love the welding feature on the Gypsy.
Elegant Edges has the perfect borders in the Borders feature for this technique.

Cricut cuts:
Straight From the Nest:  Border Feature, Button 33 on the overlay, cut at 1.75
Elegant Edges:  Border Feature, Button 23 on the overlay, cut at .52
Gypsy Font:  Monogram Shadow <Shift>, Button 44, cut at W5.25 x H3.62 (this is a square made into a rectangle with the Gypsy)

To finish my card I added my Ribbon and Divine Twine, doodled around the edges of the card and added my Sentiment which is from Pink By Design: Take the Cake.

Ink it Pink Challenge Pbd01

Pink by Design has started a new challenge blog and since I have several of these wonderful stamp sets I thought I would play along.  This first weeks challenge is to Use Words as Backgrounds.

For my Words as Backgrounds I used my all time favorite Birthday sentiments Pink by Designs Take the Cake.  This is a must have stamp set if you create a lot for Birthdays.

Cricut Cut:  Stretch your Imagination Cricut Cartridge...it was cut with my Gypsy at a width of 3.25.  I love using my Gypsy with the older Cartridges so I can use the Hide/Contour feature.  This cut was only two layers, but with that feature I was able to make it the four layers it really needed to be.  I wanted the flames and cake plate to be different papers and I was able to do this with the Hide feature.

To finish up my card I added some Liquid Pearls as the Sprinkles, Stickles were added to the flames, and some Divine Twine which is also sold by Pink by Design.

This card was so fun to make and I can't wait to find out tomorrow's challenge as the challenges go from Wednesday to Tuesday. :)

My Cricut Craft Room - Letter of the Day Monday

Hello Crafters!
Thank you for joining me today for my My Cricut Craft Room Post.
Today the design team had to use the Letter of the Day...today's letter is W.
I was excited to pull out my Wild Card cartridge for today's post.
That is definitely an oldie but a goodie. :)

The card I created can be found on Button 35 of the overlay.
I decided to cut the envelope as well so with this cartridge you want to always figure out the measurements for the envelope first that way you'll know that your card will fit.
I did fit to page on the envelope so that made the envelope 4.75.  So the Card, Frame, and Phrase will be measured 4.75 as well.

Card & Envelope
Card half way in envelope
I just love how this turned out.
The paper is from Scenic Route - Metropolis Series:
Card - Butler Street
Envelope - Market Street

I hope you enjoyed my creation for today.
