My Cricut Craft Room - Card Creating Tuesday

Today at My Cricut Craft Room we had the choice to create a card based on the above sketch.
Here is what I came up with:

This card was fun to use monochromatic colors in Pink of course. :)
I included tags to give the card a little twist...now let's see who is hiding behind these tags.
I used Pink By Design's Stamp set - Take the Cake.  I just love this stamp set.
It is a must have Birthday stamp set in my opinion.
For the Tag Holders and Tags I used Just Because Cards.
The Critters hiding on the tags are of course from Create A Critter.

I welded a tab to the folder cuts so I could add adhesive to the folder and still have room for the tag.
The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 3
The Tag: Button 12 on overlay, cut at 3.5 x 2.95
The Beautiful Birdy and her layers are cut at 2.5

The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 3.5
Tag: Button 12 on the overlay, cut at 3.5 x 3.45
The Sweet Sheep and her layers are cut at 2.5

The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 4.18
The Tag: Button 12 on the overlay, cut at 3.5 x 4.15
The Happy Horse and her layers are cut at 2.5

The Tag Holder: Button 21 on the overlay, cut at 7.5 x 4.75
The Tag: Button 12 on the overlay, cut at 3.5 x 4.77
The Cutie Cow and her layers are cut at 2.75

Here's a better look at the tags:

To add some added texture to my tags I used Divine Swirls and Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folders.
Another texture I used was Divine Twine.  I especially love the Twine I added to the Horse tag.
To finish the tags I added some doodling.

Hope you enjoyed my Critter Creation!

This month I chose four different Cricut Cartridges and I have three cards to share with you today.

My first card was created using Paisley.
I got this sunglass ribbon from Erica with this cute Elephant in mind.
The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Fabulous Phrases.
I embossed both layers of my elephant with Swiss Dots & D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug Folders
and I added Glossy Accents to the sunglasses.
My 9 year old niece has been having some bully issues so I am going to send this to her so she remember's that she is FABULOUS! :)

Cricut Cuts:
Button 6 on overlay, cut at 2.75...also used Feature buttons Layer 1, Layer 2 to complete cut.

My second card was created using Yummy Imagine Cartridge and Martha Steward Holiday Cakes.
This was a quick and simple Easter Card.  All of the pattern papers were patterns selected from the Yummy cartridge...this actually has really great pastel colors on this cartridge.
The bunny is from Holiday Cakes.
To finish off this card I added Divine Twine and Star Dust Stickles.

Cricut Cuts:
Background Rectangle - from stock images on the Imagine, cut at 4.2, filled with pattern from pg 43.
Scalloped circle - from stock images on the Imagine, cut at 3.5, filled with pattern form pg 40.
Bunny - MS Holiday Cakes, Button 42 on overlay, cut at 2.2, filled with pattern from pg 42.
Top Layer of Bunny - <Shift> Button 42 on overlay, cut at 2.2, filled with pattern from pg 42.
(Page numbers reference Yummy Cartridge)

This card was created using Just Because Cards cartridge.
Ok so I saved my favorite card for last...I absolutely love this card!
I bought the paper by Sultry by Basic Gray knowing I wanted to use it for a Watermelon cut.
I also used Divine Twine Pink, Black, and Green and twisted them together and added a knot of each color and I added Glossy Accents to the seeds on the watermelon.
Doesn't it look so Yummy!

Cricut Cuts:
Background Cut - <Shift> Button 32 on the Overlay, cut at 3.71
Watermelon - Feature Layer 1 and Layer 2, Button 32 on the Overlay, cut at 4.0
Thanks a Melon - Feature Word, Button 32 on the Overlay, cut at 3.25

Thanks for joining us in today's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop!

Erica's Craft Room Challenge - March 20-27th Card Challenge

Erica's Craft Room Challenge
March 20 - 27th Card Challenge

My goal this month was to do a few challenges along with my regular My Cricut Craft Room Design Team Posts.  This is the third challenge I have entered this month so I am fulfilling my goal so far. Yay!  If you didn't know Erica at My Cricut Craft Room has started a Challenge blog.

Every week there is a Card Challenge and every other week is a Scrapbook Challenge.
These challenges include a Sketch and a Color Combo to use with the sketch.
Go Here to join in the fun.
Above is this weeks sketch to win a $25 store credit to Erica's Webstore.
She has a ton of craft items (including Cricut Cartridges) at great prices!
Here is the link to Erica's Webstore if you want to start your wish list. :)

Here is my take on the Sketch:

The colors we were supposed to use for the challenge are Pastel Yellow, Pastel Green, and a Color of my choice.  Of course I chose Pink...I am not so into pastels so I chose a mix of pastels with some brighter colors.  Cricut Cartridges used to create this card: Art Philosophy and Just Because Cards.

Cricut Cuts using my Gypsy:
Art Philosophy: All cuts for the Egg were from Page 57
Cut at 5.5 using the following Feature buttons:
Card Feature
Layer Feature
Decorative Feature

Just Because Cards: All cuts for the Bunny were from Page 59
Cut at 6.29 using the following Feature Buttons:
Layer 1 (Bunny)
<Shift> Layer 1 (Bunny Foot)
Layer 2 (Inside Bunny Ears)
<Shift> Layer 2 (Bunny Nose)

To give my Bunny some added texture I used Recollections Flocking Powder (White).
To do this I just layered the Bunny with a Zig 2 way glue pen and then poured the powder on top.
This works well, but next time I am going to try using my Xyron (need refills first) :)

I also made a mistake by flipping the Bunny on my Gypsy and not flipping the foot and the inside of the ears.  In my head they were supposed to be the Pink Poka Dot, but luckily I cut those items on Double sided paper and instead of re cutting those little pieces I went with the striped paper. Some times you just gotta go with the flow. :)  I like how it turned out.

Inside of the card
There were no wated cuts on this card.  I used the negative cuts from the Decorative Layer on the front of the card and the inside of the green egg on the inside. I don't have any Easter Stamps so I made my own Sentiment using Microsoft Word.  I like to do this a lot when I journal on my Scrapbook Layouts.

Supplies:
Cricut Cartridges: Art Philosophy & Just Because Cards
Paper: DCWV Lemon Flower Stack
Echo Park Paper Co - Jody's Stripe
Recollections: Flocking Powder - White & Adhesive Rhinestones - Pink
Pens: Zig Memory System - Pure Pink, Sakura Gelly Roll - White
Adhesive: Zig 2 Way Glue Pen & therm o web 3d Foam Squares

So there you have it...I hope you decide to Join in the Fun with this Challenge.

My Cricut Craft Room - Theme Day Thursday

Today's Theme at My Cricut Craft Room is Pink...isn't that fun!  I've always been a pink girl...I love the color pink and was so excited to create for this theme. :)

For my card today I created an A2 size card using Just Because Cards and Hello Kitty Greetings.
The base of my card is from Just Because Cards button 23 on the overlay cut at 8.5 x 5.5.
and <Shift> and the same button, cut at 5.5.  This cut is for the scalloped border.
Hello Kitty with all of her layers is from button 12 on the overlay cut at 4.25.

To finish off my card I added my Sentiment which is from Pink By Design's Take the Cake stamp set.
Stickles - Glam Pink
Liquid Pearls
Twine - Pink

Here is the inside of the card...this cut is also from Hello Kitty Greetings.
Button 11 with the <Shift> layer, cut at 1.5.

I just love how this card turned out. :)
Hope you enjoyed.

To see what other projects were made with Pink please go to My Cricut Craft Room to see what the other Design Team members created today.
