My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesday

or we could use the Icon Feature.

I chose to use the Icon Feature for my A2 size card today.
The Pooh & Friends Cricut Cartridge has a great Icon feature.
The Icon feature on this cartridge has a lot of great garden images, but I found this sweet Turtle on button 30 of the overlay.  He is cut at 2.5 using the Icon Feature, <Shift> Icon Feature, and Icon Shadow Feature.  I flood filled all of the images with patterns from Imagine More Cards.  I love how all of the papers coordinate so easy with the Imagine.

I also used the XL Die from My Creative Time and my Sentiment is also from My Creative Time's Many Greetings stamp set.  To finish up my card I added some Sew Easy Baker's Twine and a little bling for the turtles eye.

I hope you enjoyed!

Erica's Craft Room Challenge - Weekley February/March Card Sketch #1 until March 6th

Here is my entry for Erica's Craft Room Sketch Challenge.
I am so happy with how it turned out.

The card base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 with the corners rounded.
I then cut a square at 5 x 4, rounded the corners and cut a circle out of the middle.
I cut one more rectangle at 3 x 4 1/2 rounding the corners.
All of the paper used was from a Colorbok stack from Walmart.

My Cricut Cuts are from Create A Critter:
The cuts can be found on page 68.
The hive is the Accessory Feature Key, cut at 3.5.
The Bee is the main key including layer 1 and 2, cut at 3.

To finish off my card I added Glossy Accents to the black parts of the bee,
added my Sentiment that is from Pink By Design: Take the Cake,
and doodled stitching on each layer.

Here's a side view showing the fun glitter paper I used for the bee.

To join the fun and for the chance to win the Sophie Cricut Cartridge check out the sketch and enter the challenge Here.

My Cricut Craft Room - Would you guess Wednesday

\

Today is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday at My Cricut Craft Room.  What does this mean, you ask?  Well on Wednesday's Erica challenges us to use only the Feature keys on the Cricut Cartridges.  I really love designing for this day becasue I tend to overlook the feature keys but there are so many treasures to found. :)

Today's project I made an A2 size card and a matching gift holder from the Something to Celebrate Cricut Cartridge.  They both can be found using the Decor Feature Key.
The card is button 37 on the overlay, cut at 5.5 x 4.25.  I used my Gypsy so I could use the exact measurements I wanted (this is one of my favorite features on the Gypsy).
I then pressed Shift and the same key at the same measurement to cut the background which is the polka dot paper.  The Happy Birthday sentiment can be found on the Martha Steward Birthday Cakes Cricut Cartridge.  This was cut at 1.43.
Did you know you could use Cricut Cake Cartridges to cut paper as well?
To finish my card I added some doodling and stickles for some bling.

The matching gift holder is button 22 on the overlay and cut at 3.5.
To get the polka dot paper cut you just push the Shift key and button 22 again cut at 3.5.

There you have it, now would you have guessed I could find a cute coordinating card and gift card holder using Feature Keys?  Don't forget to really look at all your options.
It's a whole new world of possiblities.

My Cricut Craft Room - Theme Day Thursday

Today is Theme Day Thursday at My Cricut Craft Room...and today's theme is Weddings.  This happens to be perfect for me since I have been working on my wedding album.  I like to do clean and simple LO's especially for this album since I really want the focus to be on the pictures.

Cricut Cuts:
Page 1 - Sweethearts Cartridge: Here Come the Bride can be found by pressing Shift and is button 30 on the overlay, cut at 3.5.  I also ran this through the Cuddlebug using the Swiss Dots Folder.
Unfortunately I can't remember which cartridge I got the frame on the picture to accent my dad walking me down the aisle, but any frame would work.
Page 2 - Gypsy Font: We gather here today was welded on my Gypsy and cut at 1".

Here are the pages larger...I just wanted to show them side by side above. :)

For more Wedding LO's go to my Labels and click on Scrapbook Pages-Wedding.

Now go to http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com to see what other projects were created with a Wedding Theme.

My Cricut Craft Room - My Imagine-ation Monday

Happy Monday crafters,
I hope you had a fabulous weekend and possibly joined us for My Cricut Craft Rooms 100 Cricut Cartridge blog hop...there was a ton of fabulous projects made by my DT sisters!

Today is My Imagine-ation Monday at My Cricut Craft Room...I hope to inspire you to use your Imagine today.  For this card I used Hey Diddle Diddle and for my card I used only one piece of 12x12 white paper and a 4x4 scrap of white paper...isn't that amazing! :)

 Cricut Cuts:
I made a two sided piece of paper by printing one pattern using the Print Only Setting on one side and flipped the sheet and changed the Setting to Print & Cut.
I then flood filled the 5:7 rectangle on the stock images that come on the Imagine (cut at 8.1).
I then selected the Butterfly cut from Create A Critter <Shift> button 41, cut at 2.5 and flood filled with various patterns also from Hey Diddle Diddle.
Once my rectangle was cut with the double sided paper I attached that piece back to my mat and cut the card base which can be found on Art Philosophy using Card Feature <Shift> button 35, cut at 5.5.

Here is the side view of my card...to add dimension to my butterfly I adhered the inside edges of the wings and lifted the outer sides up.  To finish off my card I heat embossed my sentiment which is  from My Creative Time's Many Greetings and I also used her Circle Stitch Die around the sentiment.  I also did some doodle stitching around the butterfly to give her that finishing look.

The inside of the card...I used some pearl accents as the butterfly bodies and added some dots to outline the butterfly cut from the front of the card.
I am super happy with this card!

I hope you enjoyed my card today.
Please go to http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com to see what other wonderful projects
were made on this Imagine-ation Monday!

Liebster Blog Award

I am so excited because I got my very first blog award. This award is from Yvette. Thank you so so much!!!
The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note.

Thank you to Yvette who honored me with this award!
I am pleased to pass this along to 5 fantastic women who inspire me!
Here are the rules:
1- Choose FIVE and coming blogs to award the Liebster to. Blogs must have less than 200 followers.
2- Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3- Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you gave the award to with links to their sites.
Here are my choices for the Liebster Blog Award.
