Arrrr Happy Birthday Matey - Pirate Card

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
Today I want to share another first for me since I got my Silhouette Cameo.
This is my first side step card.  I had such a blast creating this for one of my besties little boys 5th birthday.  His party was a Pirate theme so naturally I had to create a special Pirate card just for him.

I love how easy it is to find so many cute images on the Silhouette store.
My absolute most favorite feature is that I can personalize the card with any font I have available on my computer.  Seriously...the skies the limit!
I don't remember what font I used here, but I welded Happy Birthday Matey.
I know this is nothing new to veteran Silhouette users, but I still can't get over the freedom that comes with this machine!  I used my close second favorite feature of Print & Cut.  The stripe pattern was found on the Silhouette Online Store as well.  I love that I can scale and rotate the pattern so I can use the same pattern on the base of my card and on the ships signaling flags.

I am also amazed at how it cuts even the littlest things like the coins and lock on the treasure chest.
This took a lot of patience to get those little cuts adhered to the card, but the results were so worth it.
I had to laugh at myself because as I was almost done gluing down the coins and completing my card I thought to myself I should've made this bigger so it could be displayed as a decoration on the table.  I am definitely going to keep this in mind next time I want to create some party décor.

Here are some close up shots and a side view of the card
I used the following items from the Silhouette Online Store:
Base Card: #39773 Side Step Card by Lori Whitlock
Pirate Ship: #39088 d.j.'s pirate ship by Sweet Elsie
Waves: #42518 whale with waves by Silhouette (I got this as a freebie)
Pirate: #44753 pirate boy by Stinkin Cute Paper Piercings
Treasure Chest/Parrot:  #44759 parrot and treasure chest by Stinkin Cute Paper Piercings

I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Dates that forever changed our lives

I'm so excited to be posting my first project made with my new Silhouette Cameo! :)
I've been wanting a Cameo for some time, but I already have the Cricut Imagine and kept telling myself I don't need two cutting machines.  I finally took the plunge and got the Cameo and
I LOVE IT!

This machine is so amazing and a whole lot portable then the Imagine.
I feel like there are so many more possibilities with the Cameo.
This project was created for my friends 40th birthday and I was inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest.
This was so fun to give as a gift because then I got to hear the story of how her and her husband met.  We became friends in 2002 and I never knew their story.

I designed this project in Silhouette Studio.
I printed the sheet that went inside the frame using the hombre effect on the dates.
I then printed the dates again on printable Square1 Masterpiece then cut them so I can adhere them on the glass to create a dimensional look.  This product amazed me at how easy it was to use and if I misplaced a number I just peeled it right up to fix it.

I am so excited to be using Square1 Masterpiece as I signed up for their amazing Designer Program.
I can't wait to create more projects with this material.

Here are a few closer views to help see the text a bit better.

I will be submitting this to the Silhouette Challenge:  Use Numbers
This will also be getting Linked to Link Up Tuesday at Sarah Hamer Designs.

I'm so excited to be posting to my blog again and can't wait to share more projects I create with my Silhouette Cameo!

Tinkerbell Birthday Card

I created this A2 size card for my Besties sweet baby girl, Zoe.
She just turned 3 and loves all things Tinkerbell right now.

To create this card I used two Cricut Cartridges.
The green base is from Elegant Edges:
Feature Button: Oblong <Shift>, Button 4 and cut at 5.25
Tink is from Disney Classics:
Using all Feature Layer Buttons: She is Button 27 and cut at 4.0

I used my  Cricut Imagine RGB feature for the colors of Tinks Skin, Hair, and Wings.
Skin is R: 253 G: 228 B: 200
Hair is R: 255  G: 245  B: 136
Wings are R: 221  G: 243  B: 239
To find these I googled Tinkerbell RGB Codes and came across this great list by
Courtney Lane Designs...click Here for the direct link.

The pink cut that Tink is sitting on is from My Creative Times Vintage Stitched Label Die.
The sentiment is also from My Creative Times Many Greetings stamp set.
I will be entering this card into the MCT Designer Challenge...the challenge was to Emboss.
I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder on Tinks wings and I embossed the sentiment too.

I finished off my card by adding Black Divine Twine
and the stitched doodles with my White Gel Pen.

Here's a side view...I added dimension by pop dotting Tink and the Vintage Label Die.
I really love how it turned out and can't wait to play some more with my Disney Classic Cartridge.

Love Birds

I created this card for my hubby.
I am going to submit it to two separate challenges and a linky party. :)

I used the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge and my Cuddlebug.
The sentiment is from my newest Pink by Design Stamp set Artisan 2 and the cute chevron frame the sentiment is in comes with the stamp set too.

The first challenge I am submitting it to is Unscripted Sketches #197
SK 166 US 197

and the second is Twisted Tuesday, which the challenge here is to:

Make something for a loving couple. It can be an anniversary card, Valentine card, house warming creation, a scrap page of the happy couple, whatever you like.
THE TWIST
Include the color black, preferably ribbon or lace, but anything black will do

Last but not least...I will be linking this to Pink Cricut's Link up Tuesday.

Follow your Rainbow

I am entering this card into the Ink it Pink Challenge by Pink By Design.
This weeks theme was a Rainbow Challenge.

I made a shaped Rainbow card using the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge.
I just love this cartridge.
I selected the Card Feature Button on my Gypsy and cut the card base at 11.5w x 3.71h.
I then selected all of the layers and cut them at 4.7w x 3.67 h.
I wanted a little bit of a frame on the inside of the card so I cut it a bit smaller.

To finish off my card I embossed the rainbow with the Swiss Dots Cuddlebug Folder, glued the Divine Twine (I got from the Pink by Design store), and stamped my sweet sentiment from
Pink by Design's Simply Everything stamp set.

I love how it turned out and how perfect the sentiment works with my card.

I am also entering this in The Paper Girls Challenge (Use Twine)
and The Pink Cricut's Link up Tuesday

Sweet Valentine

Oh how I've missed crafting and blogging.

I have had a bit of a crafters block, but am hoping to get back into the swing of things
by joining some challenges. :)

My first challenge of the year I am joining is hosted by My Creative Time's Designer Challenge.
I just love all of Emma's Stamps and Dies.
This challenge is a 1 2 3 challenge.
We are to use 1 Bow, 2 Patterned Papers, and 3 Buttons.

To create my card I used My Creative Times XL Label Die and the Teeny Tag Greetings Stamp Set.
The beautiful paper is from an American Crafts 6x6 paper pad I got from Michaels.
The ribbon and buttons were from my stash...I haven't looked at my buttons in so long and was so excited to find these super cute heart buttons. :)

To finish my card I added Stickles to the turquoise hearts and some doodled stitching.

I will also be Linking this card to the following challenges:
